My favourite thing about the countryside is normally the relief I feel when I’m in a car leaving it. This is mainly because just about everything that interests me can’t exist in a small sleepy village.
In case you’re not local, our summers have been low on sun and our winters are lacking in snow. I enjoy the idea of all the things we’re meant to be able to do outdoors, but without the tell-tale signs of which season we’re meant to be experiencing, there’s not much pulling me towards Northumberland. Apart from now, that is.
Tucked behind a service station in Corbridge is RE. A shop I could happily bankrupt myself in. Have a look.
